Nic's 30th Birthday

It's official... I'm married to a 30 year old!!  And a good looking one at that! ;)  He deserved a great party to celebrate his old age!  So we got to planning...  And after trying to decide between my ideas for trips, parties and restaurants, we new instantly what we were going to do when our friend Mike suggested a mustache party.  It was perfect!  A perfect excuse for a good party, and a perfect excuse for the men to grow some facial hair.  So I threw Nic a 30th Birthday Mustache Bash!!

It was such a great time, and definitely one of the most hilarious, crazy, down-right fun parties I have been to.  We catered one of Nic's favorite restaurants, La Fiesta (delicious Mexican food) along with serving our signature drink:  the toxic Margarita.  We had desserts, a fire in the fire pit, cute decorations (if I say so myself), and of course, a mustache planted on everyone's face.  It was a hilarious sight.

Since everyone knows I fill my posts with way too many pictures, I'm just going to let the photos do the talking...

We wanted people to be able to go inside and out, so we decorated our deck in the backyard.

 Some of my favorite things, a tin bucket for the drinks and mason jars.  I ordered the cute paper straws from Etsy.

Chocolate mustache cake.  It began to crumble, so I added texture to the icing for the hair, and to cover up my mistakes.  :)

Red-Velvet Cheesecake Cupcakes.  I cut the mustaches out of card stock and glued them to lollipop sticks.  Easy and cute.

One of my favorite decorations.  I blew up some old childhood photos of Nic.  We had fun drawing mustaches on all of them.

Yes, the giant mustache on the front door set the tone for the rest of the party.  It's a giant magnet!

Mike and Mary An gave Nic a Mustache Comb for his Birthday!  It was put to good use!

 I ordered these awesome stache-glasses on Amazon.  They were so fun!  They do tend to hide my upper lip, though.  :)

October

How is it that October has already come and gone?  Seriously, it flew by.   It was a busy month, filled with lots of excitement.  And since I've gotten behind on my blogging, how about I just compile all of October into one post.

Let me share with you what we've been up to, and some reasons why I love the fall!

• I love the October weather!  It has been beautiful outside!  Great for walks, and dare I say it, runs with the pup.  Yep.  We have started running.  Well its more of a very slow jog, but hey, it's a start. 

• FSU football!  Although the majority of October's games were away, we did manage to make it to one.  And it was a beautiful win!

• Impromptu trips with my girls.  Christine, Andrea and I had a Saturday date in Thomasville.  It consisted of much needed girl time, lots of shopping, and delicious food.  I highly recommend Jonah's Fish and Grits.  All you need to say is "Fried Green Tomatoes," and I'm there!  

• Scented Candles, Fall decorations and crafting (yes, I know you can craft year-round, but it's just more fun in the Fall).

• Halloween.  Our friend Andrea threw a costume/Birthday party, and she once again out did herself.  From the food, to the cake, to the costumes, everything was just so cute spooooky!

• My Dad's Birthday, which just happens to be on Halloween.  We celebrated a day early at my house for dessert and gifts.  I didn't want to compete with the huge party he has every year at his house.  Hundreds of kids come over in full costume to help him celebrate.  And instead of bringing him presents, they take candy.  :)

• Planning for Nic turning the BIG 3-0!!!  Yes, I am officially married to an old man.  And I spent the majority of October brainstorming, planning and crafting for his Mustache Bash.

• But what I like most about October is that in one month it's November, and then it's DECEMBER... which means it's Christmas time!!!  OH, I can't wait!
